What I Would Do.
The biggest power of the SGA President is to serve as a voice for students to the administration. SGA makes the little things in your Furman Experience, while advocating for a direction for the school as a whole. The following are issues I stand behind, that were suggested by students, about how to make the "Ideal Furman Experience":
School Improvement

- Creating a unifying event for Sophomore Independents
- Evaluating the addition of a 24 hour room to the PAC
- Building a brick path from behind the infirmary towards the library to keep peoples shoes clean
- Adding a swing near the lake for student enjoyment
- Adding an ENO holder accross the lake for quick studying
- Researching the openness of the Board of Trustees to reevaluate the alcohol policy to cover Tailgating and the North Village Pavilion
-
Grant FUSAB the rights to a monthly campus wide email to inform students of events
On the Issues

- Build increased support for Furman football and athletics
- Fostering lines of communication between Greek Life and SGA; perhaps appointing a Greek Life Rep to SGA
- Continuing Furman University's support of the local community
- Advocating Furman to sustain the admission of quality students to protect the value of a Furman University education

SGA Operations

- Encouraging the participation of all members of SGA
- Creating a family atmosphere from the first meeting of council
- Inviting all members of SGA back to campus before official student check in to plan the year
-
Having a night out with SGA immediately following Freshman elections so the new members feel at home
SGA is a vehicle for change at Furman University. This election isn't about me, it's about you, the students.
